I could not resist on writing about numbers today, after my office mate broke the silence in our office saying "now is 11:11am on 11.11.11". That is quite a lot of ones in such short phrase.

Quem nunca foi um estagiário ou quem nunca matou um pouco trabalho, que atire a primeira pedra! Não é segredo nenhum e muitos sabem que eu já fui estagiário por meio ano, numa empresa de comunicação que agora não recordo o nome. De fato eu tenho uma boa desculpa: meu estágio foi em 2002, no último ano do ensino médio. Faz muito tempo!

Farewell party in Helsinki

Hi everybody,

you most probably know that I left Helsinki on May 16th and since than I am back in Linz, Austria. I had a busy week, seeking for a my new apartment/room, unpacking, shopping and trying to settle down once again.

By the end of the week I had to get ready and go to Vienna for some meeting. Afterwards I started living again :-) Now enjoying the spring time in Linz and btw, it has been really nice!!!

But now let's comment about my last Friday in Helsinki!!!

Last week

Hi my dear readers,

It has been a long time since last post, then I decide to write a little bit. Well, to be truly correct I don't know what to do right now - I am going to university by tram and I ran out of options. Last time I was reading a book, which I forgot in the last hostel that I stayed last night, in Turku. Another option, that I love, is listening some music. However, it is not possible right now, since my friend's cat destroyed played around with my earphones. The kittens are really really cute and sweet, but late in the night something happened. In the other side of the door something abnormal was going to happen. In exactly 12 seconds, counted by each stroke of the clock at midnight, the two gray kittens turned into a huge black monster and suddenly... well it is not a horror blog. Let's go back to the reality and comment what is going on right now around me.

Easter break: Bermuda triangle...

Hei! (Hey in Finnish)

Fortunately last week was the famous easter break! And I am glad to share with you a little bit about how was mine. As an old saying "first things first", I should explain the title. I did not have time (actually money) to visit the original Bermuda triangle, then I did on my own: on the Baltic see within three cities - Helsinki, Stockholm and Riga.

B-day 2011

I will tell a little bit about my birthday, how it was and what I did yesterday. But first of all I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all those made my day more than special. Either with a smile, a message on Facebook or Orkut (another social network, pretty common in Brazil), SMS, e-mail, skype call or chat, phone call or even knocking on my door at midnight ;-)

Is she the Queen? no... she is the president of Finland

On Saturday, April 2nd, I visited the President's Palace with a friend whom I met in me dormitory.

For those who like a bit of history, I should point out a two important years and dates during the last decades. Let's go back a bit, but not that much because the land that nowadays is called Finland was nothing but just ice during the Ice Age (what is not difficult to imagine if you spend your winter here).

It is not a April Fools' prank

Hi fellows,

it has been such a long time since my last post and most of you were wondering what f#&% happened. Well, I got a little bit stressed with some deadlines and few other issues. I also was spending my "free" time with new blokes I got know here - but I promise I will keep writing ;-) Btw, thanks for those who asked me about, I really appreciate.

Actually I have a lot to tell. For instance, I also started new post about my St. Patrick's day and it is still waiting for the ending - coming soon (kind of late, though). Moreover, I spent few days back in Austria in the last week, in Linz and Vienna. Nonetheless, today is a special day, but not just here, April Fools' Day is celebrated all around the world. I don't have any prank to tell - up to now - but I will describe a bit more why everything seems just a joke for me, here in Helsinki.

Pi day

As all mathematicians among another geeks, every year we get excited about this day: March 14th or 3.14.

But why? Because this is just the first digits of the irrational and transcendental number Pi. For who is not a mathematician you may be need few more details.

My first Finnish PUSSI

Hey guys,

are you ready for today' story??

When I first thought about coming to Finland I shared with my friend about and she was so excited in my place. After few minutes talking about the forthcoming experience she could not help herself, saying "you can learn Finnish within three months, is it no amazing?". I did not really agree.  Something else was in my mind :)

How easy I arrived in my new address

Let's start by the beginning (funny this phrase, isn't it?)

I arrived on 18th February at 5:45pm in the Helsinki airport with no delay. This time my luggage was save and it was waiting for me in the baggage claim. Everything was fine. I even had my hand luggage along with few things to survive at least two nights - in the case they lose again my belongs.

Beforehand I looked up on the map my new address and how to get from the airport to the city center and then to Töölö, where the building is located. In the airport's website I got all the informations that I needed, including a video - in English - with the steps I should follow till the bus stop.

In summary this day was divided into two parts, like all journeys. First, how to get from home to the airport.  Second, how to get from the airport to the new address. Intuitively the first part was supposed to be the easiest one, right?

Hi buddies!!

since I arrived in Helsinki on February 18th, I have received many emails and messages on Facebook asking about my new life experience... whereby I decided (actually strongly recommended by a friend) to create a blog. In this way I'm gonna write only once and who is interested can follow it!
