Farewell party in Helsinki

Hi everybody,

you most probably know that I left Helsinki on May 16th and since than I am back in Linz, Austria. I had a busy week, seeking for a my new apartment/room, unpacking, shopping and trying to settle down once again.

By the end of the week I had to get ready and go to Vienna for some meeting. Afterwards I started living again :-) Now enjoying the spring time in Linz and btw, it has been really nice!!!

But now let's comment about my last Friday in Helsinki!!!


My last weekend in Finland was quite busy, on Friday we had a "cool" night, as my Swedish friend said, and you gonna understand soon (see the pictures for instance).  The weekend I spent in Tallinn, but it will be part of another post. In the meanwhile I also had to pack everything for Monday morning.

Last Friday night, time for going out and instead of warming up, we got a bit chilly - literally - going out at Arctic Ice Bar. I would definitely recommend this place. It belongs to another pub which a large bar, dance floor and  karaoke!!! The Ice bar is one small room, or a massive freezer, inside the main pub (I don't recall right now its name, please some one comment about).

We start right there, few drinks and then singing a bit! It was kind of multicultural meeting, we sang in English, Swedish, Finnish and Italian (of course I was not singing along in all languages). I don't really need to comment that we also met few drunk guys around, like usually.

After singing and staying for a while in the freezer Ice Bar, with -5C, we moved to another place.

The second place, please copy down its name: Roskapankki. It has the cheapest beer in Helsinki!!! It is a must known place. Somehow either you start your night or you finish there. In this place you pay less than half price for a pint (or a bit less) if you compare with another pubs and a bit more if you would buy a beer can at the next supermarket. In this pub we got in contact with more friends, mostly Couch Surfers that I met during my stay within last 3 months. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures there, but you can see few when we're chilling for a bit in the first pub.
